Murky, bottom-heavy doomy metal that sucks you in and swallows you up. I love how the album moves from swamp as metaphor for the self-delusions that hold us back to bogs and the ancient remains they conceal within as pathways to deeper, terrifying spiritual awakenings that reveal the primeval horrors that lurk just at the edges of our consciousness. Another kickass effort from the Toronto punks, steeped in the traditions of straight edge, post-hardcore, and ’90s alternative rock. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 8, 2023
Combines a lot of influences/styles/subgenres but in a way that totally makes sense in an unexpected way. The more folky/quiet parts have a lot of tension and direction which I think is a rare skill! Giles
